iOS Architecture Audit
„We do not know whether we can keep building on this codebase.“
An iOS architecture audit answers, within ten working days, whether and how you can keep building on your existing codebase. I read the code, the build and release pipeline and the test coverage — and deliver a prioritised action catalogue with risk and effort per finding. Fixed price, no follow-up obligation.
- Duration
- 10 working days
- Price
- Fixed price
- Outcome
- Prioritised action catalogue
You are taking over a codebase from an agency or a previous team and want to know what you have.
Keep building or rewrite: the decision is due, and it needs a solid basis.
The technical state of the app needs checking before an investment or acquisition.
Quality problems keep coming back, but the cause is unclear.
- 01Days 1–2
Access and overview
Repository, CI, App Store Connect, existing documentation. A kickoff conversation with your team.
- 02Days 3–7
Analysis
Architecture and dependencies, test coverage, build and release process, data handling and security basics.
- 03Days 8–9
Prioritisation
Each finding gets a risk rating, an estimated effort and a recommended order.
- 04Day 10
Handover
A written action catalogue and a walkthrough session with your team.
The outcome is a written, prioritised action catalogue: what endangers further development, what it costs to fix, and in which order it pays off. The catalogue is written so that your team or a third party can work from it directly. It is a working basis, not a report for the shelf. Whether you implement it yourself, hand it to someone else or commission it as a modernisation sprint with me stays your decision.
- What does an iOS audit cost?
- A fixed price, quoted after the free first conversation. It depends on the size and state of the codebase, but it is fixed before you commission anything. The action catalogue is yours.
- What do we need to provide?
- Access to the repository, ideally to CI and App Store Connect, and a contact person for questions. I sign an NDA beforehand on request.
- How much of our team's time does it take?
- Little, and it is plannable: one kickoff, occasional questions and the closing session. Day-to-day work continues as normal.
- What happens after the audit?
- That is up to you. The catalogue works as a basis for your own team, for a provider of your choice or for a modernisation sprint with me.
