Geospatial Data Platform

Context

LiveEO monitors infrastructure such as rail lines and power corridors through satellite analysis. The results had to reach the field — crews working outdoors without a stable connection who still need large geospatial datasets rendered smoothly on a map.

Task

Designing and building the MVP app from the first line: Mapbox integration with custom tiling, vector and raster tiles, clustering of large object sets, GeoJSON and Mapbox expressions; coordinate and projection handling; selective offline download of tiles and objects with Realm for field use.

Result

From concept to a working MVP app in nine months. The hardest part — rendering and data loading with large geospatial datasets — stayed smooth even offline, because tiles and objects are downloaded selectively rather than wholesale.
