Junelight Smart Battery
Context
The companion app to Siemens' Junelight home battery — the interface for commissioning, monitoring and controlling physical hardware. A fault in device communication here doesn't mean a reload; in the worst case it means a technician on site.
Task
In the first engagement, modernising the codebase: migrating the architecture to MVVM, introducing CI/CD, building up unit and UI testing, plus new product features. In the second engagement, SDK components for device communication and further product development.
Result
The app ran in production as the interface to the battery. And Siemens brought me back for a second engagement in 2020 — the most reliable result a project can show.
